NFL MVP Pick
on Dec.28, 2010, under NFL News
NFL betting fans deciding on who should be this season’s most valuable player were influenced by Eagles quarterback Michael Vick on Christmas Eve. It was during practice on Friday, that football betting reporters asked Vick who he thought should be named MVP of the 2010 season. Vick’s response was one for the ages as he said “Give me that spot”. While Vick’s season has been admirable, we’d like to think that Tom Brady in the AFC should also be considered for MVP title.
It’s hard to believe that almost two years ago, Michael Vick was just getting out of prison and praying and pleading that the NFL would let him back into the league. After 18 months away from football, Vick caught on with the Philadelphia Eagles as the third string quarterback, behind Donovan McNabb. This past offseason, McNabb was traded to the rival Washington Redskins and Vick was supposed to be the backup for relatively unknown quarterback Kevin Kolb.
However, by the end of week one against the Green Bay Packers, Kolb was out due to injury. What happened next as we have seen, is one of the best single season performances in the history of the NFL. Michael Vick stepped in as Philadelphia Eagles starter and essentially never looked back. He’s thrown for over 2,000 yards while running for 600. Vick’s shown that he can be a complete quarterback but is he MVP worthy?
On the other hand in the AFC fans have loved every minute of the 2010 version of Tom Brady. After battling the last two seasons with a nagging knee injury, Brady looks like the 2004 Super Bowl winning Brady. He’s thrown for over 3000 yards and his touchdown to interception rate is amongst the best in the league. While Vick has an amazing defensive team, Brady is working with rookies. However, both men have had incredible seasons, and really we’ll only be able to decide who wins the MVP by which man’s team wins the Super Bowl.
